I retired several years ago from the school system. Having spent the last 40 years in the field of language education and educational administration, I was a teacher and most recently an assistant principal. I have a Master's Degree in Adult Education, a Master's Degree in Second Language Education and I am a few courses shy of a doctorate in Educational Administration.
On a personal level, I was born in Cuba but I have been in the United States since 1964. I currently live in Miami, with my husband of almost 40 years, who I met on a cruise ship. We have three grown sons and five grandchildren. I love to read, mostly romance novels, dance and travel.
In June 2015, after I retired, I had a lot of trouble figuring out what to do. I remembered that I always wanted to write. I found a website that provided creative ideas for short stories. In the mind, there was a novel waiting to be written. I took an online course from the local college and one day I started writing 'A Time of Love and Revolution.' It is set in Cuba during the days of the Cuban Revolution. The main characters, Maggie and Roberto were with me all the time. I have a picture of what I think they look like on my desk. Writing is now my new career, purpose and passion!
I am particularly excited now that both the English and Spanish versions have been published. I am currently working on a new novel, Seagulls in Miami set in Miami during the late 70s, the time of disco and drug trade.
